Material and manufacture:
Usually made of high quality steel, precision machined to ensure high straightness and cylindricity. Common materials include bearing steel, 45 steel and so on.
The manufacturing process includes forging, rough machining, heat treatment, finishing and so on. Heat treatment improves the hardness and abrasion resistance of the optical shaft, while finishing ensures its dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
Structural features:
Cylindrical in shape with smooth surface and no obvious bumps or depressions. Its diameter size usually varies depending on the needs of different applications.
The ends may have threaded holes or flats for mounting in order to be fixed in connection with other components.
Functional Role:
Serves as a guiding component for linear motion, providing an accurate linear trajectory for moving parts such as slides and bearings.
Withstand loads from moving parts, including radial and axial forces, to ensure the stability and reliability of the entire motion system.
Chrome Plated Bar
Material and chrome plating process:
Generally, steel is used as the base material, such as 45 steel, bearing steel and so on. A layer of chromium is plated on the surface of steel, and the chromium layer has high hardness, high wear resistance and good corrosion resistance.
Chromium plating process includes electroplating, chemical plating and other methods. Electroplating is through the action of electric current will be chromium ions deposited on the surface of steel, forming a uniform chromium layer. Chemical plating, on the other hand, utilizes a chemical reaction to form a chromium layer on the steel surface, which has better plating uniformity.
Structural characteristics:
Cylindrical in appearance, the chromium plating layer on the surface is smooth and flat with a certain degree of gloss. The thickness of the chromium layer usually varies according to different usage requirements.
Compared with ordinary steel, chrome-plated rods have more accurate diameter dimensions and higher cylindricity, which can meet the needs of high-precision linear motion.
Functional role:
Improve the surface hardness and wear resistance of steel, and extend the service life. The hardness of the chromium layer can reach over 60HRC, much higher than the hardness of the steel itself, which can effectively resist abrasion and scratches.
Enhance the corrosion resistance of steel to prevent rusting in harsh environments such as moisture and corrosion. The chromium layer has good chemical stability and can resist the erosion of most acids, alkalis, salts and other corrosive media.
